Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has taken over the operation and management of Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Ain International Airport. The company was recently granted the mandate to manage, operate and maintain airports and associated facilities in Abu Dhabi, as part of the emirate’s development plan for the aviation sector, Emiri Decree No. 5. According to the decree, ADAC has an independent corporate identity and full legal power to pursue its set objectives to operate and maintain airport facilities and infrastructure and to oversee airport services. Khalifa Al Mazrouei, ADAC’s chairman and managing director, said the new arrangement will provide the airports with technical and management services to appropriate international standards of safety, security and efficiency, but it will not affect the airport’s daily operations. “Business will carry on as usual, thanks to the close cooperation between ADAC, the department of transport and all government agencies and airlines at both airports,” he said.
