The Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group has chosen the sleek minimalist lines of Germany’s oldest furniture brand, Poggenpohl, to design the kitchens in the residential apartments at Wadi Walk in Dubailand. “Wadi Walk is a unique development with a stylish ambiance that harmonises perfectly with our designer kitchens,” says Junker Manfred, Poggenpohl GmbH. The kitchen architecture created by Poggenpohl has gained global recognition for its innovative qualities, such as the spherical kitchen by Luigi Colani, the PlusModo range by Spanish designer Jorge Pensi and the unmistakable form of the Segmento collection. The two kitchen concepts, Segmento, +Integration and PlusModo have all won the distinguished Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. PlusModo is, in addition, the recipient of the red dot design award and the iF Product Design Award 2006 as well as being nominated to receive the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2007 for outstanding achievement in product design. Mustafa Galadari, vice chairman and managing director said: “Poggenpohl is the world’s best known kitchen brand, their award-winning designs will help emphasise the fact that our Wadi Walk will offer only the best in all areas.” The development comprises of 5-storey residences containing 1600 apartments along a 10km stretch of waterway. The units are available as 1,2,3 and 4 bedroom options, including some duplex and triplex. It is hailed as providing a cosmopolitan environment with a real mix of ethnic cafés, boutiques and restaurants at street level.
