Sanyo Gulf, the regional division of global digital technology and electronics giant Sanyo, is gearing up to present its ‘Think GAIA’ vision at this year’s Gitex. Sanyo will showcase its range of evolutionary next-generation consumer and commercial products during the show. So what’s ‘Think GAIA’ all about? The vision revolves around a commitment towards providing cutting-edge solutions for a sustainable world by weaving together Sanyo’s numerous pioneering technologies and restoring a beautiful earth to the children of the future, according to the vendor. ‘Think GAIA’ involves a threefold approach consisting of action on the environmental, energy and lifestyle fronts. In each of these fields, Sanyo claims to be redefining conventional ideas and pursuing a radical new perspective, which takes advantage of the company’s technological resources to propose global solutions for the life and earth. Sanyo’s displays at Gitex 2006 will include a range of powerful multimedia projectors, top of the range digital cameras and innovative rechargeable batteries. Appearing in hall 2, Sanyo Gulf will exhibit its all new Real 2k full high definition projector PLV-HD2000 with 36 Bit colour reproduction for outstanding image quality. The company will also offer Gitex visitors the opportunity to view its PLC-XU110 high brightness portable wireless projector. The vendor will also showcase its VPC-HD1A high quality compact body HD movie camera that makes high definition movie capture a reality. The VPC-HD1A will line up alongside the VPC-CG6 — a slim and lightweight digital movie camera that offers movie and still photography capabilities in a single product. The Gaia hypothesis refers to an ecological theory, which proposes that the living matter of planet Earth functions like a single organism. In an explanation of its ‘Think GAIA’ vision, Sanyo claims: “Earth as a living planet where all life and nature are intimately interwoven with each other, is a concept that is steadily taking hold in the 21st Century. In the latter part of the last century, mankind’s pursuit of convenience and material comforts has left behind indelible stains such as global warming and environmental destruction.” “We need to make a choice, now. It is time to listen to Gaia’s voice. Let us create products that both mankind and Gaia will treasure by holding fast to the concepts of sustainability and symbiotic evolution in our hearts,” the vendor adds.
