Thailand’s reputation for offering some of the world’s top spa properties is set to be reinforced when Hyatt Regency Hua Hin introduces a new spa concept in January. The Barai, a small boutique hotel and spa built on 4.5 acres of land (18,500m²) will comprise eight residential spa suites, ranging in size from 126m² to 149m², and 18 private treatment suites, each featuring a private outdoor soaking pool, rain shower, Thai bed area for relaxation and traditional Thai treatments, private changing room and vanity. Three double suites offer deluxe hydrotherapy treatments, as well as a Vichy treatment room and steam room. Other features include a Court of Tranquility, featuring a swimming channel and a sand court where yoga, relaxation and meditation sessions will take place, and McFarland House, a two-storey pavilion dating back to the 19th Century, which has been restored and transformed into a beachfront casual dining area. Inspired by the Khmer culture, the Barai has been designed by renowned Thai architect and interior designer, Lek Bunnag, and is suitable for overnight stays, short breaks, or a trip-within-a-trip for Hyatt Regency guests.
