Korek Telecom, a leading telecom operator in the Kurdish part of Iraq, has selected and started running Eskadenia’s billing and customer relationship management (BCRM) system in Erbil. The deal marks the eighth project for Eskadenia in the area of telecom customer care and billing, building on a series of successful deployments for telecom operators in Europe and Africa. “We have chosen Eskadenia BCRM among different offers which we got from international vendors because of a number of reasons; first it is built on the latest technology and in accordance with international standards; secondly because of its strong and reliable support; and thirdly because Eskadenia’s engineers were ready to come to Kurdistan and perform installation and training on-site for a long period. We in Korek are planning to have more projects with Eskadenia,” explained Dr. Hameed Akrawi, CTO and deputy CEO at Korek Telecom. The Eskadenia BCRM system allows Korek Telecom to professionally handle all billing services, customer care functions, interconnect and roaming agreements, and customer self-care internet access for post-paid subscribers connected to its GSM network. The bilingual system delivered to Korek Telecom handles call details records for 850,00 subscribers with the option to increase this capacity as the subscriber base grows. Nael Salah, managing director of Eskadenia Software Solutions, added: “Eskadenia BCRM has proven remarkable technological advancement in all projects. This marks the eighth billing project for Eskadenia in the telecom sector and the first of its kind in Iraq to be developed and deployed by a Jordanian software house. The Eskadenia team has shown strong capabilities to smoothly cooperate with international companies, as well as the flexibility to easily reach customers in various areas.” Eskadenia has also delivered its web-enabled GSM mediation gateway to Korek Telecom, a solution that collects call data from the switches, converts them into relevant format and forwards them to any destination. The mediation gateway at Korek is interfaced to Ericsson mobile switch centre (MSC), Ericsson base station controllers (BSC), Ericsson intelligent network and INVOA SMSC. Eskadenia also launched its Prepaid System (EPPS) at a recent conference in Dubai. EPPS provides real time charging and rating, customer care, voucher management and accounts provisioning tools for prepaid mobile network subscribers (GSM, GPRS and NGN) based on the latest telecom and intelligent networks standards and technologies. Jordan-based Eskadenia designs, develops and deploys a range of software products in the telecoms, enterprise and internet applications space across EMEA.
