Acer takes Ferrari out for Gitex spin

Global hardware giant Acer gears up to showcase its entire portfolio at this year’s Gitex and plans to build on strong sales momentum in the region.

Headlining for Acer at Gitex this year will be its much-hyped Ferrari 1000 series notebook, backed up by a supporting cast of the vendor’s latest and greatest PCs, LCD monitors and TVs, digital cameras, DVDs, PDAs and projectors. The feature-packed Ferrari notebook will be one of the main tools Acer uses to attract the crowds of visitors that are expected at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre during the event. “We are confident the Acer Ferrari 1000 series notebook is an industry leader in terms of power and performance and are eager to demonstrate the potential of our new InviLink Nplify technology,” claims Philip Ashkar, director of sales and marketing at Acer Middle East. “The accelerated mobile wireless technology supports advanced multiple radios allowing it to deliver superior performance and reliable connections while enabling emerging voice, video and data applications,” he adds. The region’s notebook segment is especially important to Acer and it shipped more notebooks than any other vendor last year in the Middle East, with the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets key parts of this achievement. Gitex is a big part of Acer’s regional marketing drive and the vendor says it is an important platform for meeting potential customers and also for liasing with partners from across the wider Middle East market.
