Sigma Enterprises, the authorised distributor of General Dynamics GoBook XR-1 notebooks in the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain will showcase some tempting software on its stand at this year’s Gitex. The recently launched GoBook XR-1 notebook comes packed with special wireless management software that ensures the widest range of wireless access coverage options. The notebook has the capability for up to four embedded concurrent wireless radios: WLAN, WWAN, Bluetooth and GPS. Itronix, the division of General Dynamics responsible for the GoBook XR-1 believes that it has a winning product on its hands. “The GoBook XR-1 is our best fully rugged product to date, the lightest and smallest rugged notebook available, embodying Itronix’ more than 20 years of expertise in rugged devices,” says Tom Turner, general manager and VP of computing technologies for General Dynamics C4 Systems. “Our commitment to innovation and performance excellence is stronger than ever with General Dynamics, as we build on our heritage of success in the development of products for both military and commercial customers.” Aside from its special wireless management software, the GoBook XR-1 uses an Intel Core Duo 1.83GHz dual-core processor. Gitex attendees looking to find out more about the latest in rugged notebook technology will not be disappointed on Sigma Enterprises’ stand.
