Mideast Data Systems (MDS) is one of the largest IT groups in the Middle East and, according to IDC’s latest report, the number one services provider in the UAE. The company specialises in data centre integration, software solutions, system integration, site preparation and standby power systems. It also offers training courses, which can be tailored to meet the specific needs of a company and held onsite. MDS’s consultants help companies to define an IT vision and strategy, then find the package and services to fit. MDS has a range of software packages to choose from, by the likes of Microsoft, Symantec and Veritas. MDS Group is a multinational IT sales and support organisation with branches in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Oman, and the UAE, among other locations. The company has seen the benefits of exhibiting at Gitex in the past and the annual event now forms a vital part of its marketing strategy. “MDS has been a consistent participant in Gitex for more than 20 years and we believe that Gitex is the most important IT event in the region which we can not afford to miss,” said Sami Abi Esber, president of MDS UAE Holdings. MDS plans to showcase the latest hardware and software solutions from its partners, which include HP, Microsoft and Cisco. It has clear business objectives for the coming year: to outgrow the market, increase market share, and expand the company’s presence by offering new products and solutions, as well as by expanding to new geographies within the Middle East. “The Middle East is a market with very high potential for growth, especially within some specific IT areas,” continues Esber. Exhibiting at Gitex is a major step towards reaching as much of the regional market as possible and helping translate those ambitions for growth into sales success.
