Canon prepares to launch 'Bonus Club' incentive plan

This year’s Gitex will see digital imaging and printer powerhouse Canon Middle East launch a brand new incentive scheme for retail sales staff.

This year’s Gitex will see digital imaging and printer powerhouse Canon Middle East launch a brand new incentive scheme for retail sales staff. The company has been hard at work preparing its ‘Canon Bonus Club’ and will roll out the reward programme via a soft launch in the UAE shortly before, or during, this year’s Gitex. “Canon Bonus Club is aimed at second tier sales staff working within the retail channel,” explains Canon Middle East’s channel marketing specialist, Rebecca Norris. “This scheme is not targeted at retail managers, in stores such as Carrefour for instance, but at the staff themselves — the people selling our products.” Sales staff will be able to sign-up for the scheme at a Canon Bonus Club website, after which they’ll be able to earn points for each Canon sale they register on the site. “Kind of like air miles,” says Norris, “they can earn these and with them then earn prizes. Some of these will be Canon products and others leisure activities, shopping vouchers and so on.” This channel inspiration follows hot on the heels of another recent Canon rollout, as in August the firm opened its first pan-Middle East help desk service centre. It designed this new UAE facility to deliver both post-sales support and pre-sales product information to customers. Services are offered via a call centre with support provided via telephone, e-mail and fax, initially in English and Arabic, and with French to follow soon.
