Belden, the cabling and network transmission vendor, will use Gitex to reinforce its new brand identity, and reinforce its relationships across the region. “Gitex is the best venue to introduce new products to the entire Middle East market and to widen the recognition of the Belden brand. It also represents an excellent place to meet with our channel partners, form new business relationships and strengthen existing relationships,” comments Berry Medendorp, marketing communications manager for the EMEA region at Belden. The company recently adopted a new logo and tagline, as well as identifying itself as Belden, rather than Belden CDT as it had been formerly. The vendor now wants to establish its new identity, and promote its new range of products, such as those which will come from its tie-up with partner Extricom, which was announced this summer. Key to this will be a new range of wireless products, coming out of the Belden partner’s high-tech developments. Extricom’s wireless LAN system eliminates co-channel interference, by creating a ‘channel blanket’ wireless topology, as opposed to what the company describes as ‘cell-planning’. The vendor claims this allows it to deliver seamless and zero-latency mobility, and wire-like connections with guaranteed quality of service. This can then be used to deliver triple-play services (voice, video and data) to enterprise users, something many current wireless systems struggle with. “Belden’s name is synonymous with technology innovation, and we are honoured to have been selected to contribute a major piece to their wireless initiative,” says Gideon Rottem, CEO and co-founder of Extricom. As far as the Middle East market goes, Belden is expecting some exciting developments in the region. “The Middle East continues to be our one of the fastest growing markets for Belden CDT. The opportunities are very abundant and while the competition is fierce, Belden brings a fantastic array of products and a great brand name to the market,” concludes Medendorp.
