Taipei-based D-Link is set to wow Gitex crowds with a host of solutions, including networking kit at the forefront of wireless technology. “The D-Link booth will be showcasing our complete line of wired and wireless IP telephony, the new wireless pre-N product range, the ‘Zone Defense’ security solution, the 3G based product range, UTM firewalls, multi-layer Gigabit and 10G solutions, just to name a few,” says Fateen A. Fateen, chairman of D-Link Middle East. D-Link’s pre-N Wi-Fi equipment represents the cutting edge of wireless networking — industry body IEEE has yet to ratify the standard, but vendors such as D-Link have taken a chance and released solutions based on the draft version. The vendor claims that firmware updates will be available to ensure interoperability with approved-N products. D-Link’s wireless pre-N range is equipped with ‘Rangebooster’ technology to improve usability in larger spaces, in addition to offering the higher speeds of the new standard. The products also include advanced quality of service systems to improve real-time applications, such as voice or video. Another innovative range of products is D-Link’s 3G systems. These include 3G IP cameras and routers, which enable businesses to stream high-quality video to a 3G mobile phone or other device. D-Link will also be showing off equipment such as UTM firewalls, wireless switches, multiplayer Gigabit and 10GBaseT switches, and wireless VoIP phones. “Gitex is the most important exhibition in the region and is growing steadily year by year. We endeavour to sign up new agreements with channel partners throughout this region. D-Link ME follows a well-defined channel strategy, working closely with its partners to achieve mutual objectives,” says Fateen. “Local and regional markets are served through a carefully selected and reliable distribution network with ample policy provisions to nourish and support resale, export, retail, corporate, solutions and project customers. Loyalty programmes are integrated strongly into the overall business strategy,” he adds.
