BenQ has unveiled a new 19-inch LCD monitor – the FP92V, aimed at the region’s gaming enthusiasts and movie buffs. The firm’s latest SXGA TFT LCD boasts a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels and a contrast ratio of 600:1. It has a quoted response time of 8ms and offers horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 140 and 135 degrees respectively. According to BenQ, the FP92V’s specially coated screen is scratch resistant ‘to a high degree’ and provides impressive contrast, brightness and sharpness, as well as low reflection. In terms of sound, the FP92V has two integrated one-watt speakers and is equipped with both D-sub and DVI input ports. The new monitor also features BenQ’s proprietary ‘Senseye’ digital-enhancement technology, which is designed to automatically improve image quality, adjust brightness levels and reduces jagged edges on images. Senseye also adjusts contrast, color and sharpness settings, which according to BenQ, significantly enhances the display of pictures and graphics-intensive applications such as PC games. In a recent press statement, BenQ revealed that the sales of LCD monitors are growing in the region. “Customers are becoming aware of the benefits of LCD technology and this has converted into higher sales across the region,” stated Manish Bakshi, general manager of BenQ MEA. “As the new generation of slim, stylish space-saving LCD monitors hit the market, and the average price stabilises, we expect rapidly accelerating sales for LCD monitors.” To meet this growing demand, BenQ has opened new production lines and Bakshi revealed that the company is shipping a larger volume of monitors to the region “than ever before”.
