For IT services firm Satyam Computer Services, Gitex is all about connections. The Indian firm will use its appearance at this year’s exhibition to highlight its wide range of technology solutions and services. “The first step to any successful venture is connecting to the client and there is no better place to do that than Gitex,” explains Virender Aggarwal, director and senior VP for Satyam, Asia Pacific and MEA. “Gitex is one of the important means for Satyam to start creating lasting bonds with its client community.” The Satyam team in the Middle East and Africa wants to showcase Satyam’s capabilities and experience in delivering quality IT solutions to the market. “We at Satyam believe in a close client relationship where customers come first and when it comes to tell the story, Satyam wants to be on the forefront,” says Aggarwal. Satyam has invested heavily in the region, Aggarwal says, and has the Middle East at the core of its future growth strategies. “The Middle East Markets are on the verge of major growth, especially with the oil prices at the levels they are at right now,” he declares. “In the past two years, the Middle East markets have been a growth engine for Satyam and Satyam wants to be a leading player in this growth and its effect on technology. In fact, Satyam has invested heavily in the Middle East in the past 18 months in growing its organisation in the Middle East and creating focused efforts in bridging the gap between India and the region.” As part of its global growth strategy, Satyam has taken the initiative to invest in the development of local talent in the regions where it has its presence around the globe and it has done the same in the Middle East through a series of partnerships with local ICT institutes. More specifically, Satyam will use this year’s Gitex to demonstrate its wide range of domain competencies in multiple verticals such as public services and government, automotive, banking and financial services, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, telecoms, energy and utilities among others.
