Consumer electronics manufacturer JVC will boast a major presence at Gitex Shopper and Consumer Electronics Expo 2006 courtesy of its UAE distribution partner Oasis Enterprises. A key highlight at this year’s Gitex Shopper will be the demonstration of the Everio GZ-MG505, the world’s first internal hard disk camcorder with 3CCD camera system. Also exhibiting will be the Computer Research Centre of Islamic Sciences (CRCIS), which will showcase its impressive and comprehensive range of software solutions and associated services at the show. Established in 1988, the CRCIS specialises in creating digital versions of Islamic texts and sources. The organisation researches the best methods of using advanced computer technology in producing word indexes, subject indexes, “rijal” indexes, and other required indexes in the Islamic fields, and offers computer training, hardware and software services to researchers of Islamic sciences. It also publishes books, magazines, pamphlets, and other Islamic resources. Meanwhile, consumers looking for innovative audio-visual products and accessories at Gitex Shopper and Consumer Electronics Expo 2006 should drop by the Jupiter Electronics stand. Jupiter manufactures a range of digital products under its Vinverth brand, and holds the exclusive distribution rights to Bollywood films produced on high-definition versatile discs (HVD) in the Middle East, India and Africa. According to Sajan Joseph George, director sales, Jupiter Electronics LLC, Dubai, HVD picture quality is “the closest thing yet to enjoying a cinema experience at home”. Vinverth also manufactures a range of HVD players and television receivers boasting impressive features such as a high-definition multi-interface connection as standard. And on the networking front, 3Com International’s range of convergent IT solutions for business and consumer applications will also be showcased at Gitex Shopper. The company’s product portfolio covers IP telephony solutions, IntelliJack-branded LAN switches, modular and stackable LAN switches, network management solutions, routers, and IT security solutions. 3Com recently teamed with IBM to incorporate its VCX suite of IP telephony solutions into IBM's “all-in-one” system i-business computing solution. The vendor is making a major effort to establish itself in the region as the leading networking supplier at all levels of the market.
