Sony Professional Services recently won the contract to build two OB vans for Egypt’s state broadcaster, the Egyptian Radio & Television Union (ERTU). The US $2million contract will see Sony equip each of the two OB vans with standard definition (SD) equipment and deliver them by the first quarter of 2007. “This is a significant win for Sony as it is the first set of OB vans we will be doing for ERTU,” says Hany Bartella, sales manager, Sony Dubai. “In the past, we have done quite a few OB vans for Egyptian Media Production City. We have been liaising with ERTU for several projects over the last three years including building a studio for them for the recent Africa Games and the Good Morning Egypt show.” The vans will be equipped with BVP E30P cameras and other major kit including Canon J22 lenses, Vinten Vision 250 tripod systems, Sony LMD monitors, Quartz router, Canford audio systems and Tektronix waveform monitors.
