Enterprise data protection software outfit Guardian Edge has strengthened its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) team with the appointment of Lynton Stewart-Ashley as channel sales director for the UK and EMEA. “These markets are significant growth areas for the company and we are very excited to have a strong and aggressive sales manager join our channel development squad,” said Joseph Hoban, VP for worldwide channel sales at GuardianEdge. Stewart-Ashley brings more than 15 years experience in the IT security sector to GuardianEdge, having previously served as channel manager for the UK and Ireland at anti-virus outfit F-Secure. He also played a major role in the implementation of a UK channel sales programme for firewall vendor CyberGuard. In his new role at GuardianEdge, Stewart-Ashley is expected to drive encryption software sales through channel partners across EMEA, with a special emphasis in the UK and Ireland, Russia, Eastern Europe and the Nordic countries. At present, GuardianEdge appears to have no authorised partners serving the Middle East market. The vendor bills itself as a market leader in reducing the cost and complexity of enterprise data security and claims to have nearly 2 million users around the world depending on its encryption solutions to protect sensitive and proprietary information. Customers can also use GuardianEdge solutions to ensure they meet compliance rules for safeguarding privacy and to enable secure enterprise mobility according to the vendor. GuardianEdge’s current client base includes Deutsche Bank and Humana.
