DHL has continued its expansion plans in the UAE by opening a number of new service points throughout the country. The company is hoping the four conveniently located outlets will provide customers with significant advantages, including simplified pricing processes and a full range of packaging services. DHL already operates 21 service points in the UAE and more sites are schedules to open in the near future. “Being easy to do business with, is part of our strategy and our new service points ensure customers can deal with their shipments while they shop,” said David Wild, general manager of DHL UAE. “The locations of upcoming and existing service points reflect the projected 180% increase in the number of shopping centres in the country.” The new service points, located at Deira and Sharjah City Centres, Mall of the Emirates and Dragon Mart. “We are witnessing huge growth in the number of shipments originating from our service points, with figures up 40% year- on-year,” explained Wild. “The results are a clear indicator that a large number of small medium enterprises and retail customers prefer to walk into stores to drop off their shipments, rather than use the home pick-up option.”
