The eyes of the HP partner community will be on Spain this week as top brass from the vendor’s EMEA operation descend on Barcelona to outline their channel strategy for 2007. The company’s Preferred Partner Conference is poised to host more than 650 allies from around EMEA, including a handful of its most valued partners from the Middle East, such as Emirates Technology and National Computer Services. “The theme of this year’s event is ‘Smart Energy’ which reflects the drive and passion HP generates, as we empower our partners to meet the needs of our joint customers more effectively and efficiently than anyone else – ever before,” said Jos Brenkel, VP SPO at HP EMEA. HP’s top regional executives are expected to announce a series of enhancements to its Preferred Partner Programme, which was launched 12 months ago to reward resellers that invest in building expertise around its solutions. Brenkel and EMEA managing director Francesco Serafini are also set to reveal forthcoming objectives and confirm the company’s three key drivers for 2007: growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. Leading EMEA bosses - including SPO VP Jim McDonnell, PSG chief Eric Cador and SPO ISE boss Gilles Lambinet - will all be in attendance to entertain the vendor’s most valuable partners. As HP seeks new ways to further strengthen the sales skills of its channel, resellers will also be treated to a series of breakout sessions on topics such as succeeding in the SMB space with Microsoft and HP technologies, and new business opportunities around Intel’s architecture. HP intends to cap the event with a lavish awards ceremony where it will reward top performing partners in the Certified Professional, SPO Services and SPO categories. Channel Middle East will keep you posted on all the news from the event and assess the modifications HP makes to its Preferred Partner Programme.
