BMW launches film festival in the Middle East

The competition, which was launched on September 1 and runs until November 1, 2006, invites short film entries that are upto 15 minutes in legnth.

BMW Group has launched a MINI Film festival in the Middle East to encourage filmmaking in the region. The competition, which was launched on September 1 and runs until November 1, 2006, invites short film entries that are upto 15 minutes in legnth. Judges will be looking for compelling storytelling. Directors can choose the format of their films and whether they should include live action, animation, computer graphics or other styles. “The MINI Film Festival 2006 is a great way for us to reach out to the burgeoning film community within the Middle East, and offer our support for enhancing the region's growing reputation as a vital emerging film hub,” says Guenther Seemann, managing director, BMW Group Middle East. ”The MINI brand has launched several amateur film festivals and partnered with international events across the world. We are excited to launch here in the Middle East a unique concept that will further contribute to strengthening the cultural scene in the region,” he adds.
