Hardware vendor Acer has struck a channel partnership with Ideal Distribution in Pakistan. Under the terms of the deal, Ideal will market and distribute Acer’s AMD-based Aspire 5101 series in the fast-growing Pakistani market. Citing increased demand for AMD-based notebooks across the Middle East, Acer reckons that the expansion of its channel to market will result in a further sales spike. “We have already been selling Ferrari notebooks successfully, and now decided to give more options to users and increase the product line with the Aspire 5101 series,” said Zahid Mahmood, Acer country sales manager for Pakistan. “Acer seeks to provide technology that empowers the user so that the product works for them and not the other way round.” Acer is targeting the corporate channel with the finance and banking sector one target vertical. The vendor also believes that the Aspire 5101’s entertainment options will also make it a popular model for consumers. “AMD has shown remarkable growth with us over the past year by bringing out dependable and high featured products,” added Mahmood. “We have a large range of AMD notebooks and this is just the start. We’re looking forward to continuing and sustained growth in the market.”
