Identity-based unified threat management (UTM) appliance vendor Cyberoam has signed up VisionTech Systems as its latest Middle East channel recruit. Cyberoam claims that Dubai-based VisionTech will open up access to new routes-to-market for its products in both Africa and the Middle East. “The inclusion of Cyberoam adds a highly strategic dimension to our internet security product portfolio,” said AliAsgar Dohadwala, business development manager at VisionTech. “Cyberoam’s unique identity-based features not only protect enterprises from external threats but also play a critical role in curtailing internal threats by identifying the individual users as well as applying controls based on users’ business requirement.” Cyberoam appliances offer a complete set of security features including firewall-VPN, anti-virus, anti-spam, IDP and content filtering. Cyberoam also claims that its products are capable of enhancing productivity through bandwidth management and multiple link load balancing and gateway failover over a single platform. Under the terms of the new channel agreement, VisionTech will offer integrated internet security solutions to small and medium enterprises across the Middle East and Africa. “VisionTech’s combined experience of over 10 years in the Middle East IT industry will enable us to capture market growth opportunities in the region,” said Harish Chib, VP marketing at Cyberoam, which is part of Elitecore Technologies. “This partnership is an excellent opportunity for us to leverage Cyberoam sales by broadening our reach in the Middle East region to draw approximately US$1m revenue.” Latitude Systems, which operates as a distributor, systems integrator and value-added reseller in the UAE and across the Middle East, was named as a regional platinum partner for Cyberoam’s identity-based unified threat management appliances in early August.
