Dubai based power retailer Jacky’s electronics has announced that its two new outlets in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates will open by the end of this month. The new stores will have a combined area of 6,000 square feet and boost the company’s retail presence in the UAE to 11 outlets. “Retail spend in shopping malls in the UAE has had a steady rise,” said Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky’s Electronics LLC. Panjabi added that the popularity of the mall amongst both residents and tourists was one of the main reasons behind the decision to open two additional outlets there, in addition to the Jacky’s Express outlet already opened in the mall’s entertainment centre, Magic Planet in March. “Dubai has long had a reputation as an electronics hub,” Panjabi explained. “Today the Mall of the Emirates has come to be recognised as a place one can source all manner of goods and based on the success of the first Jacky’s Express we decided to establish multiple outlets in the mall.” The first Jacky’s Electronics outlet should open on the 20th of August, as long as developers are ready to open the new section of the mall by that date, Panjabi told ECN. “The second outlet, which will be a Jacky's Express store, should open before the close of the month. Again, I can't give an exact date as there are various approvals from the mall and local authorities required before the opening.”
