Sharjah-based Al Salam Contracting, a subsidiary of Becon Construction, has picked up the US $30 million (AED110 million) contract to build a 41-storey tower in Sharjah. Located in Al Majaz, the Al Boom tower will include 218 apartments, six shops and parking that will accommodate 264 spaces, as well as a helipad on top of the building. The consultant on the project is Adnan Saffarini. Construction is expected to begin sometime this month and will be completed by January 2009. Al Salam Contracting is also working on another project in Al Majaz, worth $16 million. And earlier this year, Becon Construction also picked up the contract to build the tallest tower in Ajman — the $54 million Corniche Tower.
