OnLine Distribution has become the first partner in the GCC to make it to authorised distributor status under the terms and conditions set out by printing solutions vendor Zebra’s recently launched PartnersFirst channel programme. Venu Menon, divisional director at OnLine, said: “Structure is always a key business driver. The PartnersFirst programme has assisted to consolidate OnLine’s relationship with Zebra Technologies and the channel partner community. PartnersFirst also differentiates distributors from direct resellers with a specific authorised reseller track buying through distributors. This tool now enables OnLine Distribution to recruit fresh channel partners with Zebra recognition.” The PartnersFirst programme was launched in the Middle East by Zebra in April 2006 and recognises three tiers of resellers: premier partners, advanced partners and associate partners. The programme also includes sub-tracks for partners focused on specific areas such as RFID and Zebra supplies. The programme is designed to support resellers buying through authorised distributors and coordinating with Zebra on sales, marketing, training and technical support. Benefits include the allocation of qualified leads from Zebra’s own marketing efforts. Paul Garner, regional sales manager for the Middle East, India and South Africa, said: “PartnersFirst will provide a foundation for a consistent and transparent partner programme across the EMEA region. It aims to define and recognise channel partner value as well as enable margins that encourage partner investment in Zebra.” Zebra reckons that its partner programme will also allow it to manage and resolve channel conflicts on sales opportunities and pricing. “Zebra’s determination to change how its partners are supported and rewarded will benefit the channel and will help OnLine Distribution support the reseller community,” concluded Garner. All existing Zebra partners have until the end of 2006 to apply for accreditation under the terms and conditions of the PartnersFirst programme.
