Latitude Systems, which operates as a distributor, systems integrator and value-added reseller in the UAE and across the Middle East, has been named as a regional platinum partner for Cyberoam’s identity-based unified threat management (UTM) appliances. The new deal, which marks the beginning of Cyberoam’s channel expansion plans in the Middle East and Africa, enables Latitude Systems to drive sales of Cyberoam appliances. The Cyberoam products, manufactured by Elitecore Technologies, offers integrated internet network security to enterprises of all sizes. Cyberoam appliances offer a complete set of security features including an identity-based firewall, VPN, anti-virus, anti-spam, content filtering, intrusion detection and prevention, bandwidth management and multiple link management on a single platform. “The addition of Cyberoam to our product portfolio is driven by its ability to offer security based on threat evolution rather than pure feature-based security,” said Dhiren Harchandani, COO and CFO at Latitude Systems. “Internal and external threats are key business concerns for enterprises. Cyberoam’s effective security against next generation threats through its identity-based security offers a distinct advantage in offering proactive defence against these threats,” Harchandani added. Harish Chib, VP marketing and EMEA boss at Cyberoam, said: “Latitude Systems’ wide presence in the region forms a key element of our Middle East strategy. Latitude Systems brings to us their experience in the security arena and deep understanding of the Middle East region.” “We are targeting US$1m revenue of Cyberoam from the UAE security market. The strong demand for UTM appliances in the Middle East region will drive our movement and we expect to gain a strong foothold in the region through partnership,” Chib added. Cyberoam claims that it has the only solution offering comprehensive security in DFCP and Wi-Fi environments. The product also removes complexity in static environments by removing IP addresses as intermediate components in enterprise security. Cyberoam is also paying special attention to the rise in internal risks, which now account for a significant percentage of enterprise risks.
