Missha stores set for GCC

Al Tayer Group, a Dubai-based business with interests in sectors including perfume and fashion has acquired the GCC franchise for Missha, a cosmetics brand owned by Korea-based Able C&C.

Al Tayer Group, a Dubai-based business with interests in sectors including perfume, fashion and publishing, has acquired the GCC franchise for Missha, a cosmetics brand owned by Korea-based Able C&C. Al Tayer Group plans to open its first GCC store in Dubai in the last quarter of 2006. This will be followed by 14 more stores across the GCC by the end of 2007. “With Al Tayer Group’s strong presence in the premium segment of the perfumes & cosmetics market with Areej, the UAE’s second largest perfumes and cosmetics retail chain, we are confident of equal success with Missha,” said Khalid Al Tayer, group general manager, business development, Al Tayer Group. Yang Soon Ho, Able C&C’s chief executive officer and president, added: “We are excited about Missha’s introduction to the Middle East market later this year. With the Al Tayer Group’s expertise in building successful retail outlets in the Middle East as well as their experience in the perfumes and cosmetics industry, we are confident of Missha becoming the new favourite in its category.” Missha has a portfolio of more than 600 products including skincare, body care, make-up, fragrance and haircare lines. Al Tayer is a family owned group with more than 20 companies.
