Five bids for the third package of the offshore associated gas project in Abu Dhabi are currently under evaluation by the Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Company. Bids for the contract, which is estimated to be worth between US $350 to 400 million (AED1.3 to 1.47 billion), were submitted in mid-June. The five bidders are Greece’s Consolidated Contractors International Company, France’s Technip with Pakistan’s Descon Engineering, India’s Larsen & Toubro, as well as Abu Dhabi-based firms National Petroleum Construction Company and Dodsal. The contract covers the supply and installation of a 98km land pipeline from Ras al-Qila to Habshan for the processing of associated gas. The UK office of the US Fluor Corporation has carried out the front-end engineering and design, while Australia’s WorleyParsons has been appointed management consultant. The project is due for completion in mid-2008.
