Saudi Prince becomes DigitalSkys chairman

Wireless solutions provider DigitalSkys has appointed HH Prince Bander Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Saud as chairman.

Wireless solutions provider DigitalSkys has appointed HH Prince Bander Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Saud as chairman. “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to help shape the future of an exciting, fast-paced industry,” said Prince Bander Bin Abdullah on his new role. “DigitalSkys has the strategic long-term vision and extraordinary technical expertise in satellite-based VSAT platforms, WiMax and Wi-Fi technologies to become global leaders in their field, and I look forward to playing my part in the company’s development.” DigitalSkys specialise in “last-mile” access to network infrastructures, specialising in wireless technologies. It has recently deployed a new high-speed two-way satellite communications platform, to reach customers over a wider geographical area. The firm has plans for rapid expansion, and will be partly funding these through a share listing on the Australian Stock Exchange. “We are delighted and honoured to receive HH Prince Bander Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Saud as Chairman of the DigitalSkys group,” said the group’s CEO, Charles D’Alberto. “His decorated military career, proven business acumen and unwavering pursuit of excellence will place DigitalSkys in good stead to achieve its aggressive growth strategy.” HH Prince Bander Bin Abdullah has served in the Royal Saudi Air Force, and has Masters-level degrees from the National Defense University and George Washington University, both in Washington DC, USA. He will take up his position as non-executive chairman of DigitalSkys with immediate effect.
