Balall Yaqub, the recently announced new CEO at Emitac, has outlined his vision for the future development of the company. Yaqub claims that Emitac has all the tools at its disposal to further enhance the company’s reputation as a leading IT solutions provider in the Middle East and beyond. “We now have the opportunity as a team, to deliver real value to Emitac as it currently has a very strong name in the IT market not only in Dubai but across the Middle East,” said Yaqub. “Emitac enjoys close strategic partnerships with global IT vendors along with a wealthy customer database — these are tools to transform our company into a leading IT solutions provider.” “We want Emitac to further excel in providing services in the field of IT distribution, enterprise level solutions, medical solutions and instrumentation equipment,” added Yaqub. “My personal principles of management depend on one main success factor, which includes the power of teamwork, skilled individuals with a common objective to go out in the field and give their best performance.” Yaqub has a long and distinguished track record with Emitac prior to his appointment as CEO. In 1976, after receiving extensive training from HP in the USA, Yaqub moved to the UAE to establish Emitac, which was appointed as distributor for HP’s full portfolio of products in the UAE. In 1983 Yaqub launched ABM Data Systems, which by 1999 was recognised as one of the leading IT companies in Pakistan. In 2000, Yaqub established Avanza, a US-based IT software and services provider in the areas of e-banking, e-business and e-CRM. “I then came to the UAE with a goal to start Avanza Solutions Middle East through a joint venture with Emitac and Avanza Solutions Inc. USA,” added Yaqub. Emitac’s new CEO believes that the company is well positioned to take advantage of the tremendous opportunities for growth that exist within the UAE market. “There are hugely encouraging signs of development within the UAE as the economy is entering a significant growth phase,” he added. “Aided, and in no small measure, by staggering oil prices, soaring business investments and continuous business expansion within the country, this is the perfect environment for tremendous IT growth within the UAE.”
