Online Distribution picked up the value-added distributor of the year award at 3Com’s recent regional awards night. Online claims the accolade reflects its professional territory management and ongoing training and evaluation services for channel partners. “Working with our vendors, we aim to demonstrate the collective strength of the latest generation of network technology solutions on offer,” said Zakir Lokare, Online Distribution’s enterprise business unit manager. “Our role is to facilitate access to some of the most advanced best-of-breed networking solutions for companies in the Middle East.” Online is also basking in the glory of success as a result of several members of its reseller customer base picking up awards from 3Com (despite the fact that these companies in all likelihood purchase kit from multiple distributors). “It goes without saying that we could not achieve this feat without the dedication and commitment of the Online-3Com team. Our strategy of focusing on training and offering value added support enables our partners to win recognition from vendors. Online Distribution works with vendors on their go-to-market strategy; this ensures the right message and support for our resellers.” The list of resellers that work with Online and picked up awards from 3Com includes ICC, Applicom, IT-Serve and Computer Castle. “Channel partners should continue to focus on where they can add real value, ensuring they are viewed as true business partners and so are less likely to face margin pressures,” said Amanulla Khan, regional channel manager at 3Com. “Online has consistently raised the bar in terms of value additions and development of the channel in the region and we are pleased to recognise their contribution and support,” added Khan. Lokare concluded: “Networking technology is a crucial asset to the expanding Middle East business sector, and Online reflects this through a variety of industry-leading network solution providers. Blending security, availability and ease of management, our networking partners provide the latest in high-performance integrated solutions for a range of businesses in the Middle East.”
