IT management software powerhouse CA has set up a direct presence in the fast-growing Egyptian market. CA launched its latest geographic foray with a partner showcase event for its protection software solutions at the Cairo Marriott Hotel. Toni Prince, CA’s regional manager for Egypt and the Levant, said: “We are pleased to launch our direct presence in Egypt, one of the biggest markets in the region, with close to 2m registered SMBs according to the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry.” The partner event focused on the latest CA protection suites r2.0 for customers providing resellers with interactive demonstrations on the suite’s functionality and key benefits. CA also unveiled its corporate integrated threat management r8 (ITMr8) security solution, which provides comprehensive and scalable protection against viruses, malware, spyware, rootkits, blended threats and other forms of malicious code. “It was therefore important for us to share with key channel partners the latest security and data backup offerings from CA so that they can help those SMBs protect their growing businesses with simplified, cost-effective solutions. Similarly, ITMr8 enables corporate customers in Egypt to effectively minimise risk and downtime while reducing security workloads,” Prince continued. CA’s ITMr8 security solution represents the unification of CA eTrust PestPatrol anti-spyware corporate edition and CA eTrust antivirus through a centralised web-based console allowing administrators to resolve threats from anywhere on the network. According to CA, it also allows a single administrator to manage an entire network supporting thousands of users, thereby reducing operational costs and fully safeguarding critical systems.
