Ahlan! magazines to get BPA audits

ITP Consumer has announced that its Ahlan! stable of titles is to be audited by BPA Worldwide.

ITP Consumer has announced that its Ahlan! stable of titles is to be audited by BPA Worldwide. The Dubai-based publisher has lodged applications for Ahlan!, Ahlan! Arabic, and Ahlan! Masala editions with the circulation audit firm. “This makes a total of 17 ITP magazines that are audited or have applied to be audited by the BPA,” said Walid Akawi, CEO at ITP, which also publishes Campaign. “This is more than all other UAE publishers combined and I think demonstrates ITP’s whole-hearted and very long-standing commitment to the auditing process and to giving advertisers the independently verified data they need to make informed decisions.” Last week Campaign reported that moves to create a publishers association in the UAE had moved a step closer after ITP and Motivate Publishing revealed they have held talks about forming an industry body. Akawi added: “We’ll have published audits for 25 titles by early next year and we expect to have more than 40 titles audited by the end of 2007. We’ll also be auditing our online businesses to highlight our position as market leaders in business, consumer and entertainment websites. “We are pleased to be leading the trend towards providing advertisers with solid data that they know they can trust and benchmark against other titles that carry audited circulations.”
