Oman TV has selected Autocue’s QSeries software for use in its first server-based news production and playout system. The new system comprises the QNews Newsroom Computer System (NRCS), automation playout control, QMedia ingest and media management and Autocue prompting software. The system also includes the Nexio server together with NewsFlash non-linear editors and NewsFlash low-resolution browse/editors. The design and systems integration at Oman TV is being carried out by EMS. Oman TV, which transmits its broadcasts through a network of stations spread across the country, chose the QSeries software for news production and transmission applications at its new facility in Muscat. “We are delighted that the Ministry of Information will be taking delivery of the Autocue QSeries software for their new newsroom production centre,” says Parwaiz Anjum, manager of broadcast at Mustafa Sultan SECOM, local distributors for Autocue. “The modularity and functionality offered by the QSeries was important to their decision, as they plan to expand their facility and launch a second channel in the future. It will be easy to add capacity and features to the Autocue system as requirements grow.” The QSeries is an integrated range of products that fulfil different requirements within the broadcast and media industries. QNews provides NRCS functionality with integrated playout automation while QNet handles scripting and production requirements for programmes. “We are honoured to have been selected to provide an integrated NRCS, automation and media management solution for the news production centre at Oman Television,” says Kieran Smith, CEO, Autocue Group Ltd. “We see that more and more of our customers require a single, integrated platform for their scripting, playout, prompting and media management needs, and QSeries is ideal for such requirements.”
