Dubai-based audio post-production house, BKP, recently recorded a live symphony orchestra performance in Bulgaria as part of advertising material it was producing for Thuraya through ad agency, Fortune Promoseven. Composer Barry Kirsch and producer Polly Gotseva travelled to Bulgaria to record the performance of one of Europe’s well-known orchestras — the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra SAF. “I compose a lot of orchestral works and produce them in our studios at BKP Dubai,” says BKP’s CEO, Barry Kirsch. “However, you can never re-create the magic of a full 86-piece symphony orchestra even with the most technically-advanced equipment. So we decided to record a live performance of one of the most respected orchestras in Europe.” Speaking about the value of a live score for a major advertising project, Kirsch adds: “Where music plays a key component in the overall concept of an ad, using a live score is always a justified investment.”
