BenQ has unveiled what it claims is the world’s fastest 20-inch widescreen LCD monitor. The firm says its new 202W screen boasts an eight-millisecond (8ms) response time, which reduces blurring when watching videos. BenQ also reckons this fast response time also makes the 202W an ideal monitor for avid gamers. The BenQ 202W offers a native resolution of 1680 x 1050pixels, as well as a 600:1 contrast ratio. BenQ claims the 43cm widescreen allows users to display and easily read two pages of text side-by-side. The firm also reckons that this format preserves the display of content such as DVD movies and games in their original form without cropping or compression. Additionally, the 202W features BenQ’s proprietary ‘Senseye’ digital enhancement technology, which has been designed to automatically improve image quality, adjust brightness and darkness levels, perform colour-mapping procedures, and reduce jagged edges on images. Both D-Sub and DVI connection interfaces are offered as standard on the monitor and can be wall-mounted via a VESA compatible bracket. The 202W is both PC and MAC compatible and will be available for approximately US $360.
