Enterprise class wide area network (WAN) acceleration appliance vendor Silver Peak has continued to strengthen its Middle East channel with the appointment of Dubai-based Olivercom as a partner. The latest channel recruit forms part of an EMEA-wide channel development strategy for Silver Peak. In addition to Olivercom, the vendor has also signed up two new partners in South Africa — BCX and RemoteQ — as well as Netstone in the Netherlands. Silver Peak believes that the recruitment of new partners will play a pivotal role in assisting the company in its rapid expansion across EMEA. The vendor has committed to a robust channel programme, designed to address the rapidly growing demand for WAN acceleration products throughout the EMEA theatre. Paul Gracie, VP of sales in EMEA at Silver Peak, said: “Our successes across the region in terms of building a powerful channel presence is an endorsement to our product offerings. There is a real demand for server centralisation and WAN acceleration here and we have the right products to address the issues in the market. We are thrilled to be able to announce so many partnerships within such a short period of time and we look forward to further building our channel in other countries.” Silver Peak’s NX Series of enterprise-class appliances enables organisations to centralise branch office server and storage infrastructure, reducing IT costs and enhancing enterprise-wide data security and compliance. Silver Peak’s local instance networking (LIN) functionality delivers local area network (LAN) performance over a WAN for all applications. By operating at the network layer to remain application transparent, Silver Peak’s claims that its LIN approach achieves secure, scalable application delivery for all application types: TCP applications, UDP applications, real-time applications such as Citrix, and streaming applications such as VoIP and video. In so doing, the Silver Peak solution eliminates the need for point products, such as wide area file servers (WAFS), caches, and application proxies. Dubai-based Olivercom bills itself as an independent systems integrator, specialising in solving complex issues relating to the deployment of the latest networking technologies built from best-of-breed products. The company works with a number of networking vendors including Nortel, Fluke, Top Layer, Sitara and SpectraLink.
