DTK Middle East has introduced a new desktop to the region called the Cruiser 600, which targets regional users in need of a performance machine. “The AMD Athlon 64 processor driving the Cruiser is designed to enable simultaneous 32- and 64-bit computing with no degradation in performance," stated Nimer Al Attal, managing director, DTK Computer Middle East. "Direct Connect Architecture eliminates system bottlenecks by connecting everything directly to the central processing unit. Moreover, users can avail web-based technical support, advanced warranty replacement and a three-year limited warranty for the PC,” added Attal. The Cruiser 600 is an AMD-only machine and can be had with either a dual-core Athlon 64, FX or standard Athlon 64 processor. In terms of graphics, it relies on nVidia’s GeForce 6150 chipset. Although hard drive capacities weren’t announced, the firm says the PC can be had with anything from a standard combo drive to a dual-layer DVD writer. Six USB ports are present as standard. The desktop also offers a 10/100Mbits/s network adapter though a gigabit adapter is offered as an optional extra. A high-definition eight-channel audio controller is also fitted as standard. The Cruiser 600’s chassis features a detachable hard drive cage, side panel covers and can be fitted with an optional cooling fan at the rear for improved cooling. The desktop is currently available in stores across the region.
