Etisalat has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with SAVVIS, a global provider of managed and outsourced IT solutions. Under the terms of the deal, SAVVIS will provide IP VPN connectivity within the UAE to its global customer base. The UAE incumbent will likewise serve its international blue-chip customer base within the UAE with networking services in Europe, the US and Asia, through connecting with SAVVIS’ global network. The operator hopes to take advantage of SAVVIS’ IP VPN end-to-end services to enhance international connections and ensure faster, more cost-effective services to customers. By plugging into SAVVIS global network, Etisalat can also provide businesses that rely on real-time data with direct links into major financial hubs such as London and New York. Etisalat hopes that in forging new alliances with international service providers such as SAVVIS it will be able to provide business customers and consumers with leading technologies, increased connectivity and enhanced quality of services across the region. “Working with key international vendors like SAVVIS is a natural extension of our strategic plan to enhance the customer experience and to continue to provide our high-profile customer base with cutting-edge services that exceed their needs,” says Essa Al Haddad, Etisalat’s executive vice president of marketing. SAVVIS has an IT services platform that extends to 45 countries, and has over 5000 enterprise customers. SAVVIS' approach combines virtualization technology, a global network and 25 data centers, and automated management and provisioning systems.
