Tech Access has named Walid Moussa as country manager for its Saudi Arabian operation, reflecting the value-added distributor’s ongoing commitment to business expansion in the Kingdom. Moussa will assume responsibility for Tech Access’ channel strategy and development in Saudi Arabia including the launch of a new channel programme. Moussa brings more than a decade of channel experience to the role, having previously worked at Al Faisaliah-Ebttikar where he held the position of account manager and acting area manager. “The regional market for information technology services is booming, especially in Saudi Arabia where IT spending is expected to cross over US$ 6 billion in 2006, up from analyst estimates of US$ 3.2 billion in 2005. The Kingdom’s massive public sector outlay represents huge growth opportunities for vendors and resellers and we have seen considerable growth for Tech Access and our growing partner community,” said Moussa. “It is great to join a company that is 100% focused on its channel; and I’m looking forward to further developing what is an already advanced channel operation as we fortify our market leadership and strengthen Tech Access’ expansion plans in the Kingdom,” added Moussa. Shomail Ghalib, managing director at Tech Access, added: “Saudi Arabia represents one of our largest markets in the region and is of strategic importance to our regional growth strategy. To help cement our presence there, we are building a strong country team and are now in a position to take full advantage of the growing demand for networking solutions.” “This is an exciting time for Tech Access. Our broadened portfolio of products and services strengthens our value proposition to the enterprise and mid-market sectors and we are working with our vendor partners to develop comprehensive marketing plans. Tech Access will continue to invest in the Kingdom,” added Ghalib. “The value we add to our partners comes from our local knowledge and in-depth technological expertise, and I’m very confident with Moussa on board we will be able to offer higher levels of service to our resellers,” Ghalib concluded. Tech Access has four offices in the region in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco. The distributor represents a number of vendors including Sun, Symantec and BlackSpider.
