Almasa picks up regional distributor award from ATI

ATI Technologies has named Almasa IT Distribution as its distributor of the year for 2005 in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Almasa achieved the highest sales of ATI distributors operating in the region.

ATI Technologies has named Almasa IT Distribution as its distributor of the year for 2005 in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Almasa achieved the highest sales of ATI distributors operating in the region. “We are very proud to receive this award from ATI Technologies as it reflects not only our commitment to channel partners and vendors, but also our continuous approach to drive volume sales through innovative sales and marketing ideas,” said Frank Sheu, CEO at Almasa IT Distribution. Rauf Baig, managing director Middle East operations at ATI, added: “Almasa IT Distribution has been a premiere partner of ATI’s since 2002, and their commitment to enhancing ATI’s brand and their consummate professionalism is what we are rewarding them for today.” “Almasa IT Distribution’s multinational sales team and overall organisation also gives ATI’s Middle East operations reseller breadth and regional MEA-wide reach, which is crucial for a company looking to maintain its leadership position in the region,” he added. According to ATI, the Middle East represents its second-fastest growing market after China. The vendor also claims that the Middle East region has the potential for significant future growth due to its relatively low PC penetration rate. ATI claims that the total addressable market for add-in graphics cards in the Middle East is 1.8 million units a year with a further 2.2 million units sold as part of integrated platforms (on motherboards).
