Sony consolidates customer help

Sony Gulf has integrated all its existing customer query points into a central customer contact centre based in the UAE.

Sony Gulf has integrated all its existing customer query points into a central customer contact centre based in the UAE. UAE customers can now call 800-Sony (800 7669) for information and support. Customers outside the UAE add 00-9714 before this number. Sony’s contact centre will also be used for compiling marketing intelligence data. “When today’s busy consumers need customer service, they want several options for getting a fast, reliable response. Furthermore, in today’s world, the dependency on the internet is huge because of the popularity of e-commerce transactions and the ‘need to know now’ mentality of consumers. To satisfy and fulfill these expectancies, it is imperative for companies to have a dedicated customers contact centre,” said Masaru Tamagawa, the managing director of Sony Gulf FZE. The Jebel Ali-based contact centre, which opened on May 3, is manned by nine staff, who are trained to answer queries about Sony product features, promotions, after-sales service, support and service centres.
