Nasser Bin Khaled & Sons (NBKS), a Qatar-based trading conglomerate, will be implementing SAP solutions to improve its business processes. NBKS chose DCS Automotive (UK) as its partner for the SAP project, as although the firm has more than 30 companies and alliances under its name, automotive ventures make up the majority of its business, according to Paul Maryan, chief operating officer at NBKS Automobiles. “It was clear to us that SAP ERP is ideal for the NBKS group as it can work across the broad spectrum of our group interests,” said Maryan. “However, automotive retail represents the majority of our business and we needed to ensure that we selected a credible SAP business partner with an in-depth understanding of automotive retail and in-house SAP skills with the credentials of implementing large scale dealer solutions. “With DCS, we have found a partner who can satisfy all of these requirements and consequently we selected SAP to run across our businesses.” NBKS and DCS will begin rolling out SAP across the organisation this month, starting with SAP Financials, HR and payroll modules which will be used across the whole of NBKS. NBKS will start deployment of SAP DBM in the second half of 2006; this will cover NBKS Automotive, which imports and distributes brands such as Mitsubishi, and Daimler-Chrysler which includes the Mercedes-Benz line of cars. The Doha-based group also controls international brands such as Michelin and Elf in the Middle East. Phil Blower, sales director at SAP Arabia, said: “This is a fantastic win for us and further strengthens our position in the Middle East market. The SAP ERP is enhanced by industry-specific features and best practices based on our three decades of SAP experience. “DCS will work alongside SAP Arabia during the implementation process as well as on future projects in the NBKS group.”
