Hardware vendor NEC gathered together its partners from across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) theatre for its annual partner summit in Malta. During the event, NEC shared details of its corporate vision and channel strategy. Regional partners from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan attended the event, which included special workshops as part of the NEC academy with live demonstrations of some of the latest technology offered by the vendor. NEC focused heavily on its servers and solution during the event, which was titled ‘At the crossroads’. “The concept of the workshops and one-to-one meetings follows our objective to have feedback and interactivity between NEC Computers and the local partners,” said Jean-Claude Tagger, president and CEO at NEC Computers. As well as delegates from NEC partners across EMEA, representatives also attended the event from Microsoft and Intel. “NEC is committed to expanding their global presence this year,” said Hisanobu Mori, executive expert for overseas business promotion at NEC Corporation. “To do this, we need the support of our channel partners in this region. Events like this is our opportunity to share our global roadmap and strategy to help our partners grow their NEC business and to maximise opportunities.” The conference lasted two days and also included workshops on marketing and sales tools as well as personalised meetings between partners and NEC management. “We are pleased with the partner turnout at the NEC Computers reseller event,” said Lenia Iacovides managing director at NEC’s regional channel development partner Interfrontiers. “Overall feedback from the partners has been excellent especially with regards to the NEC academy workshops on NEC products, servers and solutions and particularly security solutions where NEC is one of the market leaders.”
