Saudi Telecom Company (STC), the region’s largest operator, has signed a multi-million dollar eBusiness project with TechUnified, an Indian-based provider of enterprise eBusiness and wireless services. The project will allow all STC customers to use the internet to place orders for fixed-line and DSL connections, change phone numbers, receive details of bills, pay bills, send SMS and ask questions, via the operator’s corporate portal. TechUnified, together with its local partner, will provide solutions to power STC’s eBusiness and portal web initiatives. The new system it is deploying will offer self-service applications and channels to enable STC customers, employees and partners to access various e-services easily in a highly secured environment. “We will provide a turnkey solution to Saudi Telecom and this will enable the telecom operator to harness the benefits of eBusiness. This will increase revenue and reduce costs,” says Kunal Sinha, head of marketing at TechUnified. STC operates the largest communications network in the Arab world covering more than 95% of Saudi Arabia.
