Infinity TV, one of the UAE’s entertainment television channels, has announced the launch of a reality television show in the Middle East called Street Smarts. The show will feature 16 young male and female Arab participants from the region, who will contend for the prize money of US $100,000. The contestants will be split into two teams and will be judged on their expertise and skills through 16 intellectually stimulating assignments given to them by the show’s host. The contestants will live in Dubai during the duration of the show. “Around the world, the popularity of reality TV shows has sky-rocketed in recent years,” says Taleen Kirresh, who will host Street Smarts. “Middle East audiences too have been keen followers of these shows, and many have hoped that they could be a part of such shows. Street Smarts will make this dream a reality.” Personal skills, team work and the ability to build alliances as well as outsmart team mates are what the contestants require to win this show. The team that wins the weekly assignment will be rewarded US $2,722 in cash. “Although the show will be demanding, with advice from us, the contestants will be able to prove that they are capable of handling the tasks at hand and do whatever it takes to win. The weekly elimination rounds will be broadcast live from a specially constructed US $500,000 studio,” says Kirresh. At the end of 32 episodes, one contestant will walk away with US $100,000.
