Arabian Business Machines (ABM) is educating show attendees on the cutting-edge features and functionality included in the latest generation of Qosmio notebooks from Toshiba at this year's Gitex Saudi Arabia. ABM, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Olayan Group, is an authorised Toshiba distributor in the Kingdom and also operates a network of service centres for the vendor's products. With showrooms in Riyadh, Khobar, Jeddah, Hofuf and Jobail, ABM is running big promotional campaigns during this year’s exhibition as it looks to drive sales out and cement its position as a major distribution force in the Kingdom’s IT channel. “Gitex Riyadh is very important for us in terms of spreading awareness in the market,” says Mustafa Al-Tom, country distribution manager for Toshiba notebooks at ABM. “It is also a key event for us in terms of assessing the market trends.” ABM will be on the lookout for more resellers during this year’s show as it attempts to strengthen Toshiba’s channel breadth and depth in the Kingdom. One of the company's key goals is to increase Toshiba’s notebook market share in the Saudi retail sector during the course of 2006. ABM’s campaigns in the run-up to the big event focused on maximising sellout to its reseller base. During Gitex itself, ABM is focusing on educating attendees on the advanced features of the latest Qosmio notebooks, demonstrating the benefits these offer to consumers. Resellers that took advantage of the special offers available from ABM in the run-up to Gitex are also playing a key role this week as they make customers aware of the fantastic price-performance offers available. Al-Tom has also put together a highly innovative stand concept at Gitex Saudi Arabia, that makes ABM’s booth well worth a visit this week — even for attendees with jam-packed personal schedules lined up. With Saudi consumers embracing mobility in their droves, and Toshiba flying high in the regional notebook rankings, business is booming at ABM and this week’s event has offered the company the perfect platform to drive home its advantage and develop new business relationships. With approximately 100,000 visitors expected to attend this year’s show, ABM plans to meet up with new customers that can help it crack open lucrative new markets in the Kingdom - both in terms of vertical market and also customer size. The use of innovative promotion tactics ahead of and during the show has also filtered through to this year’s Gitex Shopper, where consumers can find fantastic offers to take advantage of.
