Mitel Networks is taking its full portfolio of IP communications solutions to Gitex Saudi 2006. The vendor will offer a full range of IP devices including IP telephony, IP desktop devices, contact centres and video collaboration solutions. Over the next year Mitel has also pledged more after-sales and training resources whilst expanding its investment into the Kingdom. This complements the company’s direct presence in Riyadh, established at Gitex last year. ‘’The market is now receptive to VoIP and through Gitex Riyadh we are keen to demonstrate our leadership in the provision of IP space. Mitel is focused on delivering a powerful new breed of intuitive applications and devices that improve efficiency and productivity for the user, regardless of their operating environment, time zone or geography,” said Hisham Amili, GM at Mitel GCC. Mitel will be pushing its new SME Mitel 3300CXi product at the show. The device is aimed at SMB customers and, according to the vendor, gives full IP security including firewall, date router and NAT. It also has a 16-port layer 2 data switch, supporting industry standard power for telephony devices, which Mitel says enables further reduction in the cost of deploying VoIP into small offices. The 3300CXi can also integrate with e-mail services such as Microsoft, Hotmail, Lotus and ACT. Mitel says it is committed to standards and interoperability, and its solutions can be integrated into virtually any data infrastructure with industry standards. “Saudi Arabia, the Middle East’s most powerful economy, remains the region’s number one market for the sales of IT applications. The Internet use and e-commerce are set to increase dramatically over the next few years, driving VOIP demand for all applications.” added Amili. Mitel Networks will be displaying on stand 656 at the Riyadh Exhibition Centre.
