Hardware distributor FDC International will be running dedicated on-site seminars with the aim of boosting its tier two channel during Gitex Saudi Arabia. The company will use these channel sessions to enthuse and sign up new reseller partners as it continues to expand its operations across the Kingdom. FDC has plans to open a Riyadh-based sales and marketing office, followed by its own service centre. The company’s vice president, Marissa Safe, explains: “Saudi Arabia is a key market in this region, so we’re looking to really boost our partners at Gitex. We will then open the doors of our Riyadh sales and marketing office and also a service centre.” FDC’s two half-day Gitex partner seminars will take place on April 24 and 25 in a dedicated on-site conference area. Resellers attending these events can look forward to learning about FDC and its operations from the firm’s own team of product experts, several different hardware vendors (spanning categories such as disk storage and notebook PCs). “Our partners must be able to turnover US$50,000 of FDC stock each month and sign up to deal in a minimum of two of our core products,” states Safe. And in terms of geography, she adds, “the areas of key interest to us in Saudi are Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar.” FDC’s seminar approach has, claims Safe, been met with much vendor support. “One of our vendors is actually hosting its own Gitex stand this year,” she explains. “Many of the rest are instead using our sessions to explain to the channel why it should stock and sell their kit,” concludes Safe.
