Globalnet bags Motorola distribution award

Mobile phone vendor Motorola has named Globalnet as its distributor of the year for 2005 in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Mobile phone vendor Motorola has named Globalnet as its distributor of the year for 2005 in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The UAE-focused distributor posted the highest sales growth of more than 35 distributors serving the MENA region. Patrick Mulligan, area director for Motorola’s mobile device business handed over the award to Neal Barros, general manager at Globalnet, during a recent channel event held in Prague. “Motorola has achieved phenomenal growth in the UAE in the last nine years and we owe a lot of this success to the dedicated and focused team at Globalnet. We anticipate an unprecedented spike in demand for mobile phones here in the UAE in 2006, and with Globalnet’s support, Motorola is ideally positioned to capitalize on this explosion,” said Mulligan. Globalnet has been Motorola’s exclusive UAE distributor since 1997, helping the vendor become one of the top three mobile phone brands in the country. “Motorola understands the incredibly diverse tastes in the region and their ability to cater to them is what sets them apart from other handset manufacturers.
