After looking into the possibility of partnering with an offshore software development company, Mindscape Information Technology has set up its own offshore facility in Bangalore, India. The offshore development centre, called NextEdge Software Solutions, has opened with 35 software professionals. The plan is to ramp up the operation to 100 over the next two to three years. Inaugurating the facility, Mohamed Fouz, the CIO of Mashreqbank and the CEO of Mindscape said, “We felt a strong need to work with a strategic partner to offshore our maintenance and development activity, thereby strengthening our delivery capability to Mashreqbank, as well as our other customers. After examining various options, it was best felt to set up our own delivery arm. NextEdge proved to be best suited for the purpose”. It is relevant, he adds, considering the fact that the technology needs for Mashreqbank is growing rapidly in order to maintain its rate of growth and leadership position in the banking services industry. “The business plans for NextEdge are aggressive and we are positive that in a couple of years’ time, Mindscape will be in a strong position to ensure that its track record of delivery-on-time to its customers is sustained and is met at a relatively lower cost base,” said Fouz. NextEdge offers 'end-to-end' integrated technology solutions. Since it is strategically located in Bangalore, the IT capital of India it has instant access to a trained pool of resources skilled in various technologies, says the company.
